    Nov. 16, 1994 Passed Mr. Speaker, I move, seconded by the honourable Member for Keewatin Centre, that Bill 12, An Act to Amend the Judicature Act, No. 2, be read for the second time. Mr. Speaker, this bill amends the Judicature Act to eliminate references to the rules of the Alberta Supreme Court. This bill also transfers to the Commissioner, from the Supreme Court, the regulation-making power to set tariffs of fees and prohibits the payment of fees to persons selected for a jury panel and to non-expert witnesses. This bill also provides for the position of chief justice in the composition of the Supreme Court. Thank you.
