Good morning, Members. Welcome to the Territorial Leadership Committee. As you are all aware, we are here today to select two of our Members to become Members of Cabinet of the Northwest Territories.

I would like to briefly outline the process we will use for the election of the Cabinet Members. Firstly, I wish to confirm that participation in this Leadership Forum is restricted to western Members of the 13th Assembly. I will begin the election process by calling for nominations from the floor and ascertaining whether or not the Member accepts or declines the nomination. Members are not permitted to nominate themselves. Candidates for Executive Council membership will be permitted 10 minutes to make a speech, and when all candidates have spoken we will commence with voting. Members will receive their ballots at the Clerk's table and vote in the booths on either side of the Speaker's Chair. Since two vacancies exist, Members are required to mark their ballots by selecting two names on the ballot. I will vote after all Members have voted.

Members should refer to the procedures documents, the yellow paper, on your desks for further details on this process. In addition, you will find nomination forms for Cabinet Members. With that, I will begin the process by calling for nominations from the floor for the positions of Members of the Executive Council of the Northwest Territories. The floor is now open.
