Mr. Speaker, I give notice that on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, I will move the following motion: I move, seconded by the honourable Member for Range Lake, that, notwithstanding Rule 4, when this House adjourns on Friday, October 25, 2019, it shall be adjourned until Tuesday, December 10, 2019; and further, that any time prior to December 10, 2019, if the Speaker is satisfied after consultation with the Executive Council and Members of the Legislative Assembly that the public interest requires that the House should meet at an earlier time during the adjournment, the Speaker may give notice; and thereupon, the House shall meet at the time stated in such notice and shall transact its business as it has been duly adjourned to that time. WHEREAS Subsection 61(1) of the Legislative Assembly and Executive Council Act requires that there shall be an Executive Council of the Northwest Territories;

AND WHEREAS the Executive Council shall be comprised of a Premier chosen by this Legislative Assembly and persons appointed by the Commissioner on the recommendation of this Legislative Assembly;

NOW THEREFORE I MOVE, seconded by the honourable Member for Hay River North, that the Member for Range Lake, the Honourable Caroline Cochrane, is hereby chosen to be Premier of the Northwest Territories. Masi, Mr. Speaker.
