Mr. Speaker, I move, seconded by the honourable Member for Baffin Central, that Bill 2, an Act to Amend the Charter Communities Act be read for the second time. Mr. Speaker, this bill enhances the powers of a municipal corporation to acquire, use and dispose of real and personal property. It also requires a municipal corporation to pass a land administration by-law before it disposes of real property and makes the enactment of the by-law subject to the approval of the Minister. In addition, the bill clarifies the powers of a municipal corporation to carry on business. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
