Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Concerning Bill 1, I have two committee comments that I would like to make. The first one is on the Workers' Compensation Board. Mr. Chairman, every year the Standing Committee on Finance recommends and the Legislative
Assembly passes a motion that the Workers' Compensation Board provide its capital and main estimates at the same time as the government to facilitate their review. Every year the Workers' Compensation Board fails to provide this budget at the same time as the government. If they have difficulty meeting these simple requests, it gives us concern about the rest of the operation. The committee once again requests that the capital and the main estimates of the Workers' Compensation Board be provided to the committee at the same time as the department in order to facilitate our review.
Finally Mr. Chairman, I have the committee's comments on the work of the Northwest Territories Power Corporation. Every year the Standing Committee on Finance recommends and the Legislative Assembly passes a motion that the Northwest Territories Power Corporation provide its capital and its main estimates at the same time as the government to facilitate the review. Every year the government says that this will happen, and every year the Power Corporation fails to provide its budget at the same time as the government. If they have difficulty then we have some concerns about it. As we have recommended in earlier reports, the committee would like the capital and the main estimates of the Northwest Territories Power Corporation to be provided at the same time as the department noted to facilitate our review.
That is all, Mr. Chairman. Thank you.
