Thank you, Mr. Chairman. There has been a decision made to defer opening the Mackenzie Highway to Wrigley by one year because of a need to reduce capital expenditures for 1992-93 by about three million dollars. Delaying opening the road will also defer the additional O and M expenditures required in 1993-94. The current winter road service to the community will not be affected. There has been a deferral of one year for that highway. Thank you.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. You all know Madam Premier's statement on June 16, which indicates the NWT Government's commitment to this project. Work will
commence in 1993 on construction of the Willow Lake bridge and the Camsell ferry shore facilities. In 1994 the bridge will be completed, and the Johnny Berens ferry will be put into service. This ferry now operates at the Liard crossing. The project is to be completed in 1994 and is estimated to be about five million dollars to this date. Thank you.

Mr. Chairman, is it then that our government currently has no contracts with private companies doing operations and maintenance? My understanding was that there may be one or two in the Eastern Arctic. The Minister indicated that they are all strictly contracted to the municipalities, and I do not think that is the case. Could the Minister clarity as to whether I am right or not?
