Madam Speaker, it is recognized that there are many past and current problem areas in the development and implementation of the long-term staff housing strategy. In discussing this issue with my colleagues, it is quite obvious there are different understandings and interpretations of the strategy, even amongst ourselves.

Madam Speaker, in closing, I believe it is time for the GNWT to review the policy draft and publicize clear guidelines on the process for dealing with the sale and disposal of GNWT staff housing units, in order to ensure that employees, the government, the public and our communities all benefit from this strategy.
