Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, I move, seconded by the honourable Member for Sahtu, that Bill 14, Legislative Assembly and Executive Council Act, No. 3, be read for the second time. Mr. Speaker, this bill amends the Legislative Assembly and Executive Council Act to eliminate cost-of-living increases in respect of allowances and constituency expenses payable to Members of the Legislative Assembly and to roll back the increase made to the amount of the allowances and constituency expenses on April 1, 1996.
