Thank you, Mr. Chairman. This government has had an agreement with the federal government for a number of years now, since 1988, on the construction of the Inuvik and Iqaluit hospitals. In the time of restraint, we have

run into difficulties to see this mature itself. As a committee and hearing the concerns from the communities both from east and western Arctic, the committee has felt this motion is needed to enhance the importance of these facilities going ahead, especially before division comes about.
