Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Yes, we are currently reviewing the EDAP policy to see if we can fit it into the Yellowknife market. We have met with private developers who inform us that they did not find it economical to put in new housing construction units. We are continually dealing with a number of agencies in the city, as well as Inuvik I might add, to look at other ways of introducing new home ownership programs in the city.

The Member is aware that we did meet, along with the Minister of Finance, with the City of Yellowknife to see if we can find more affordable land. We are undertaking a number of other initiatives. We are also talking with the housing market to see if it is practical to bring in modular homes as well, providing that the potential homeowners contribute more than 50 percent of the purchase price.
