Mr. Speaker, it sounds great coming off a piece of paper, but actually the problem we have here is that we have a senior person within the Department of Health and Social Services, an environmental health officer whose responsibility is to ensure the health and well-being of our residents is being looked at. In the case of Inuvik, they have not had an environmental health officer there for some three months, I believe.
With the shortage of nurses in our communities now being compacted with this, what is the department doing to ensure that the health and well-being of our residents is being looked at to ensure that the quality of water and the health in our communities are living up to the standards they should be?
