The awareness promotion varies across the country. There are organizations like the Canadian Human Rights Commission who are quite aggressive in attempting to promote awareness. They have a variety of publications. They work actively with unions as well as employers in an attempt to have them better understand the legislation, their rights and responsibilities. Similarly in Ontario, the Ontario pay equity legislation, there is an Ontario Pay Equity Commission that, again, plays a fairly broad role in not only creating publications that explain the nature of the right, how exactly the right is to be implemented and what the steps are, but also to be actively working with employers, as well as employees' associations and individual employees to assist them in ensuring that they have appropriate compensation systems in place. In other jurisdictions certainly there is not that same kind of structure, the same kind of promotion and awareness that there is a wide variety of options that are available and there are models in other jurisdictions that could be followed.
