Mr. Chairman, if you go back to the 1970s, the federal government provided loans to the NWT Housing Corporation. At that point they were 90 percent of the cost of a house and the Government of the Northwest Territories contributed 10 percent. Those loans are linked to the subsidies that we get on the operating, the shared costs on the operating costs of our public housing portfolio. As the money on the O and M falls off the table, the debts get retired at the same pace. As Minister McLeod said, the federal
government pays the lion’s share of those interest costs on that money as well. Thank you.
