Question 123-18(2): Building Canada Plan - Bundle Number Two May 31st, 2016

As I said, we took a look at this and we're moving ahead with the rehabilitation process. As far as the funding for the Buffalo River Bridge, that's already been approved by Infrastructure Canada and work planning is already currently underway to proceed with that project. A number of things that we are going to be doing under the rehabilitation process is the truss strengthening, replacement to the half of the deck on some of these bridges, and pier repair and painting as well.

Question 123-18(2): Building Canada Plan - Bundle Number Two May 31st, 2016

The Member is correct. The department carried out and had a consultant have an engineering evaluation done on all the bridges. Through that evaluation process, the consultants provided various options for the cycle, the cost analysis on the replacement or rehabilitation of these bridges. The department has decided to go with the rehabilitation option on these bridges and we will be commencing work on them shortly on that.

Question 123-18(2): Building Canada Plan - Bundle Number Two May 31st, 2016

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Yes, we are in plan to bring that forward through the process.

Question 123-18(2): Building Canada Plan - Bundle Number Two May 31st, 2016

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Bundle number two the Member is referring to has gone through the process in the government system. We are waiting for approval from the federal government on bundle number two and we're hoping to hear by late June. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Question 114-18(2): Dempster Highway Delineators And Signage March 2nd, 2016

Time permitting, I would gladly take up the Member's offer to take me out to the Dempster.

Question 114-18(2): Dempster Highway Delineators And Signage March 2nd, 2016

Additional maintenance work is planned for the complete section from the Dempster to the McPherson-Peel River section. We will be looking at all the signage and delineators as work continues this year on the widening of the highway.

Question 114-18(2): Dempster Highway Delineators And Signage March 2nd, 2016

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Reconstruction on the Dempster Highway has been in progress for the last several years, and the Department has spent numerous amounts of money on widening and doing significant safety improvements on that section of the highway, but due to last year's excessive rain and poor weather conditions, weather hindered the reconstruction work and also the replacement of the delineators for the snow levels and safety stuff that the Member is talking about. The department will be installing these things in the coming construction season, when weather conditions are favourable. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Question 109-18(2): Highway 1 Maintenance March 1st, 2016

I can talk to my department to see about how we can address his concerns, but in the meantime we'll have to have a look internally what we're going to do with this.

Question 109-18(2): Highway 1 Maintenance March 1st, 2016

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I can assure the Member I will look into the matter, and as I stated earlier in the House today until we make a decision on the Member's concerns, they can phone the 1-800 number or get a hold of myself. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Question 107-18(2): Status Of Thaidene Nene Park Developement March 1st, 2016

This is something that the department is still working on with all Aboriginal governments and partners, including Parks Canada and people in the general public, so what the park and who controls what in the end is still not a final decision. That’s something that we will continue to work on, and we can engage the Member on that too.
