Thank you, Mr. Speaker and Members of the Assembly. Mr. Speaker, I move, seconded by the honourable Member for Keewatin Central, that Bill 2, An Act to Amend the Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Act, be read for the second time. Mr. Speaker, this bill amends the Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Act to give administrative power to designate occupations for the purpose of certification. This amendment requires a corresponding change in the name of the act and the powers of the supervisor and board. This bill also amends the act to reduce the number of times the board must meet and allows the Minister to establish an appeal panel as needed.
