Yes, the department has met with the community to discuss the differences in the alignment of the right of way. While it is true that there was an area which was under some controversy as to whether it should be crossed or gone around, we are working with the community regarding that. There is still work which is being done and has been done in this area, that the Member quite correctly pointed out. It is a muskeg area, but it is an area which can be crossed in winter time and that is what has been done. We are making every effort to ensure that the road goes where people want it to go.
However, there has to be a little bit of compromise. I think this is being worked on with the community to ensure that building more roads to go around, does not exceed the budget where it would be cheaper to go through a swampy area for a shorter distance. There will be compromise, Mr. Chairman, it is not as if we are not working with the community. In this case I feel very confident that we are meeting every commitment that we can to ensure the community concerns are addressed on this project.
