Thank you, Mr. Speaker. The language bureau regional manager position in Fort Smith must supervise community-based interpreter/translators outside of Fort Smith, for example, in Snowdrift, Hay River, Fort Simpson and Rae-Edzo. There are no aboriginal languages interpreter/translator staff members in Fort Smith. Our records indicate no call for government interpreting services within the community. The reason is, Mr. Speaker, that this remote management situation has proven to be difficult and inefficient. We have decided to relocate the supervisor closer to the people he is working with. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
