Thank you, Mr. Speaker. The Department of Health provides critical and important services not only in Yellowknife and the regional centres but in the smaller communities throughout the Northwest Territories. Recognizing that the public service of the Northwest Territories should reflect the basic characteristics of the people it serves, will the Minister of Health inform this House why none of the senior management in the department's headquarters operation in Yellowknife are of aboriginal descent?

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I have a question for the Government Leader. Mr. Speaker, on March 12th, I asked the Government Leader with respect to the international trip which Mr. Allooloo will be taking to Japan. I indicated that there has been tremendous concern with respect to Daishowa building their pulp mills in Alberta, which would, no doubt, affect northern waters. At the time, I asked the Government Leader if she would consider requesting the Minister -- since he was going to be in Japan -- to make an attempt to meet with Daishowa to express the concerns of territorial residents on the building of their pulp mills in Alberta.
Mr. Speaker, the Government Leader, at that time, did indicate that she was not aware of Mr. Allooloo's schedule, and that she would take the concern as notice. Will the Government Leader be able to advise this House next week as to whether or not Mr. Allooloo, upon his trip to Japan, will be able to meet with officials in Japan with respect to the concern of the Daishowa pulp mill? Thank you.

Mr. Speaker, I want to assure the Member that we are working on the possibility of a meeting being set up to meet with Daishowa officials. We are working through the international office and protocol. I will attempt to have some indication of whether it is possible, no later than Tuesday. Thank you.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. On February 28th, my colleague, the Member for Thebacha, asked the Minister of Social Services about the abstention clause. I will quote her question: 'Since he has indicated in the House that his departmental officials that deliver the alcohol and drug program are not obligated to the abstention clause, is the Minister considering any type of directive being formulated to address avoiding double standards of a clause that he wishes to impose?' When can my colleague expect to get a response?
