Mr. Speaker, the Minister indicated he has had, and will continue to have, an official presence at self-government talks involving Gwich'in/Inuvialuit in the Mackenzie Delta area. Mr. Speaker, I believe it goes without saying, that the Inuvialuit have a record of being fair in regards to how they treat all their residents in the communities. However, is the presence at these tables to ensure the rights of NWT and municipal residents are protected in regards to a resident's ability to vote and seek public office at the community level are protected?
