Thank you, Mr. Chairman. The Member makes a very critical point in the issue of dealing with children and families, that you cannot effectively deal with a child separate from the family. The intent of the system is not to tear families apart, and that is a very good reminder to us. The intent is to try to work with the families, with the resources we have, to deal with the issues and when at all possible, keep the children in the homes and work through the issues and situations so that there is no further action required.
