Thank you, Mr. Speaker. It is certainly incumbent upon the NWT Housing Corporation to insist that LHOs understand the policy of this government and to ensure that all residents are treated equally. Yes, there will be situations where some people are under-housed and some people are over-housed, but we must recognize that we try to minimize our interventions at the community level.
That is one of the principles that we have managed to change in terms of our support of the local housing problems. It is under what we call the universal partnership agreement where the communities begin in the context of aboriginal self-government or community self-government and the communities to start taking responsibility in identifying and finding solutions to those problems.
