Thank you, Mr. Chairman. I know it takes, in terms of the renovations required to be done in the new location for the Commissioner's office it takes time to design and develop and do the construction associated with those renovations as well. If the need of the existing Commissioner's office is so urgent to the Department of Justice perhaps, and I do not know if it would be possible to find some kind of short term, temporary office location for the Commissioner's office if the plan is to go ahead with a working office for the Commissioner within a more elaborate residence.
Well, elaborate because we are suggesting that it is more than just a home, it is a place where official functions would be accommodated and it would be more in keeping with what they have in other jurisdictions in Canada, that is for sure. I have been to a number of other homes of Lieutenant-Governors. I think of Edmonton with Alberta House and different places where official functions are held. Certainly we do not have any space available like that in the existing Commissioner's residence. That is my only response, I guess, to the need for... seriously, we get a lot of ambassadors from foreign countries here. We have a lot of people that come through here and we are always looking for someplace to host functions. I just think if we are going to spend the money we should look at it a little bit more carefully than Justice needs the space, therefore we must rush out, therefore we must make a rush decision on a new Commissioner's office space. I think we need to look at it a bit more long term.
Mr. Chairman, I would like to ask the Minister if he is familiar with the land I am talking about on the corner of Matonabee Street and Gitzel Street, which is owned by this government? Thank you.
