Thank you, Mr. Chairman. The court circuits, their timing and how often they take place is entirely at the discretion of the chief judge. The department is not involved in the setting of that schedule. When the concerns were expressed by some Members about the change in timing, I did take the opportunity to talk to the chief judge and he assured me that there would be no increase in the amount of time that people would wait before they actually saw their day in court and, if necessary, he would make sure that extra circuits are scheduled if there is a demand for them.
