Madam Speaker, I move, seconded by the honourable Member for Baffin Central, that Bill 12, An Act To Amend The Commissioner's Land Act, be read for the second time. Madam Speaker, this bill amends the Commissioner's Land Act for the purpose of validating certain quarry fees and charges that have been levied under the act. The bill also clarifies the power of the Commissioner to authorize the issuance of quarry permits, to authorize the making of an administration agreement respecting Commissioner's land and to make regulations in respect of these matters in the establishment, operation and restoration of quarries.
