Mr. Chairman, the previous Assembly approved a motion that petroleum rates be subject to the Public Utilities Board approval. The government has indicated that this issue is being considered as part of an overall review of the petroleum delivery function.
However, this was not shown as an objective of the department in the 1992-93 Main Estimates. The committee is also concerned that the division should have an independent review of its costs effectiveness.
