Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Mr. Chairman, we are working on a whole range of issues tied into the day-to-day operations of Health and Social Services as well as to the action plan. There is no intention to add more staff in headquarters. Of that I can assure my colleague from Boot Lake, and the whole issue of recruitment and retention is one that we are looking at very carefully. We have the recruitment and retention draft that is with the social programs that has just been returned to us from the Social Programs Committee which we want to get ready to take to Cabinet.
We are working on a whole host of issues, things like the core services document. We are trying to come up with a self-care handbook for the Northwest Territories and it has a cost attached to it. We are trying to work on an on-call centre for the Northwest Territories that would be 24 hours a day. The MLAs have come down with us to look at the Capital Health Authority. We are trying to come up with ways to make sure that we have an accountability framework, that we get a way to get an evaluation of customer satisfaction.
We are trying to do work on a delivery model for Health and Social Services that makes sense across the North which is very time consuming. We are working on other basic things like coordinated discharge and planning so that we can avoid a lot of issues that have been raised in this House in terms of glitches that happen when people travel for medical and other appointments. Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
