In regard to part 2, $970,000 in transportation, capital investment. In the main estimates that were passed this spring for highways in regard to this item under transportation, winter road improvements, they are receiving $963,000. Is that amount over and above the $963,000?

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. My understanding in regard to the $963,000 is that there is money also in there for the bridge project. Is there an actual amount of money that is going to be used for bridges, plus the $963,000? There was money moved from the bridge project in regard to the Hay River riding, which was carried over into the Mackenzie winter road improvements, which was to build a bridge on one of the systems. Is that part in parcel, that 2000-2001 budget?

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. The point I am trying to make is that we have already allocated funds within the main estimates for work on bridges, so we are asking for another $970,000 additional monies. Are we going to be using those dollars on a project that has already been budgeted?

Mr. Chairman, as a result of receiving the money from the federal government, we are taking a five year capital plan and moving it forward into a two year plan, so we are spending money on the bridges, that is correct. We are spending $963,000. Since we are accelerating this program with the federal money, we are doing more work than what we would have done with the $963,000. Instead of spending $963,000, we are now spending a total of $963,000 and $970,000 for $1,933,000 on these bridges this year. The federal money has enabled us to accelerate this whole program. Thank you.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Mr. Chairman, in the capital acquisition plan for 2002-2003, there were $2.5 million in the budget. My understanding from the review was that was supposed to be for the bridges, so will that amount now be taken out of the money that has been allocated for 2001-2002, which is something which was planned for 2002-2003?
