Thank you. Mr. Chairman, I for one, support negotiated contracts, but I know for a fact that it has been a bit of a controversial item in this House. I think that it is important that we do come forth with which communities are going to benefit through a negotiated contract, and are we going to meet the requirements that are under those contracts. Again, I ask the Minister, is there any idea of a timeframe when that decision will be made?

Mr. Chairman, I think the decision has to be made very soon in order for this road to go ahead, including whether or not we get our appropriations approved here. Whether or not there is going to be a decision in the next month or so for negotiating a contract, I cannot say. The request would have to go to Cabinet before it can be put into any decisions.

That is a concern I have. If this contract is not going to be let until say February or March, are you going to make a decision or is Cabinet not going to make a decision on this thing until after New Year's to access these funds?

Mr. Chairman, I think the department is prepared to move in a normal process here in order to have all the arrangements made, the contractor to have his equipment in place, in order to have the project go ahead. Obviously, there is not only our timelines to be concerned about, but if the oil and gas industry is taking part in this in any way, they would have concerns that the project goes ahead on time. Could the Minister tell us the actual amount of dollars that are going to be put in this from other third parties? You mentioned the $95,000 from the different parties yesterday. How much are the oil companies willing to put forth into the maintenance of this road?
